Respiratory
Syncytial Virus (RSV)
Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is the most common
respiratory disease in infants and young children, infecting virtually all infants
by the age of two years.
Infants born prematurely and infants with chronic lung
disease are at risk for severe RSV.
RSV outbreaks occur on a yearly basis, from early fall through late spring. With proper medication, severe RSV can
be prevented.

Special Considerations for RSV Patients
Patients need additional monitoring and support to
maintain the safe and effective use of their medications.
For example, each month our pharmacy team strives to acquire every child’s most recent weight to ensure proper dosing.
Our team may also ask about the baby’s overall health, and address any concerns
the parents may have regarding treatment.
